The document below was initially developed in January 2012 by the OSU Youth Outreach Leadership Council (YOLC). The content was significantly revised in May 2017, with a minor update in March 2018. With the adoption of a new Safety of Minors Policy in October 2019, the document was renamed and revised to align with new standards.

These guidelines represent evidence-informed practices for all youth programs associated with the university. Note: individual programs may be subject to more stringent requirements based on factors such as program affiliation, funding source or licensure requirements, if applicable.
