April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month
National Child Abuse Prevention Month takes place every April to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect, promote prevention efforts, and support families and communities in creating safe, nurturing environments for children. This month is a time to recognize the importance of working together to protect children and strengthen the OSU community through education, resources, and advocacy.

OSU Programs in Action
Youth protection at OSU is a shared effort. Programs around the university are putting policies into practice—taking proactive steps like emergency planning, reference checks, supervision protocols, and inclusive staff training to keep young people safe and supported.
We’re proud to partner with OSU units that lead by example in creating safe, welcoming spaces for youth. To explore these programs and learn more about their work, visit the Program Directory.
